[YWW.ME] August 19, 2025: Romantic Morning Mist over the Xin'an River

Located an hour by high-speed train from Hangzhou, Xin'anjiang in Jiande boasts an average river water temperature of 17 degrees Celsius in summer. Every morning, when the Xin'anjiang Hydropower Station releases its sluice gates, the rising mist transforms this small town nestled against the mountains into a fairyland. When the pinkish-golden light pierces through the mist, the entire river awakens! I captured some cinematic, forest-mist-like photos! Tips: 1. The best time to photograph the morning mist is between 5:30 and 6:30 AM. 2. There are many shooting locations; you can try Baisha Village or Xiaya Village. I took my photos at the county town's dock. 3. Remember to shoot against the light, underexposing by 1-2 stops. White balance can be set to 6000-7000. My settings: Aperture f/9, shutter speed 1/250, ISO 640, white balance 6500. I only adjusted the contrast in post-processing.
