Located an hour by high-speed train from Hangzhou, Xin'anjiang in Jiande boasts an average river water temperature of 17 degrees Celsius in summer. Every morning, when the Xin'anjiang Hydropower Station releases its sluice gates, the rising mist transforms this small town nestled against the mountains and beside the river into a fairyland. When the pinkish-golden light pierces through the mist, the entire river awakens! I captured some cinematic, forest-mist-like photos.
